About the Event
Canines are curious creatures … always chewing on things they shouldn’t be eating and bounding off to places they shouldn’t be exploring – but that’s part of their charm! Problems can arise and they aren’t able to communicate to you the owner about issues. Do you know what to do in case of an emergency?
While Canine First Aid is by no means a replacement for veterinary care, there are some things you can master to help care for your pet until they can get proper medical attention. If you know these things, you can help your vet better help your pet – you’ll be working as a team. This knowledge can mean the difference between life and death; temporary and permanent disability; expensive veterinarian bills and reasonable home care. It is estimated that 25 percent more pets can be saved if just one basic skill or technique was applied prior to receiving veterinary care.
What you will learn:
-Safe handling and restraint
-First aid supplies and how to use them
-Bandaging techniques
-Basic wound care and management
-CPR
Upon completion of this class, you will earn a Basic CanineFirst Aid and CPR Certificate.
